I’m a NICU nurse and another great tip is once you poke their foot don’t squeeze for a few seconds and they won’t cry either 😌

this was the most traumatic thing for me when my son was born. he was screaming the whole time, so I was crying cause my baby was in pain and I couldn't do anything. opting for the next one to be done out of the room.

I wish you had been the one to take care of my baby. The tiny one had so many heel pricks in her first few weeks of life and we always left with her foot covered in blood and her crying hysterically. 🥺 As a first time momma, I felt like I failed her each time.
