@mac.larena: Replying to @Tearna Salvesen is it ok to give a thrifted gift? @homebodyvintage recently spoke on this also! Here’s my take and how i give thrifted gifts @Alex 🥘 Budget Friendly Foodie i teach people how to cook simple meals on a budget and grocery saving hacks #cheapmealsonabudget #grocerybudgetchallenge #thriftedfinds #christmasgiftideas2022 #easyweeknightmeals
I have been leaning towards the handmade gifts this year. I’ve learned how to crochet stuffed animals, and knit hats. My coworkers are all getting dish scrubbers that I’ve made as well.

I'm nostalgic to a fault, so literally anything that made someone think of me is my favorite thing to receive. I think many people feel the same.

Not a fan of thrifted gifts - giving or receiving. Thrifting is a personal choice.

I don’t mind thrifted housewares and accessories but for clothes, the lack of returns bc sizing etc I don’t feel good with that, giving or receiving.

I thrift gifts all the time but it's usually when I see something, think of someone, and save it for the holidays/brithdays

@mac.larena ilove to make quilts for my friends & fam but fabric is $$ so I use thrifted flannel bedding and it makes it affordable for me to gift 💜

I would only gift second hand to people I’m close too and nothing that’s not washable/sanitize-able. So ceramics yes, kids doll with soft body no.

On my side, we're doing no gifts for adults, just goodie bags. Cookies, handmade trinkets, spice rubs... and my mom is making meat pies 😍

I feel like bonus points if the thrifted gift becomes something new - like thrifting glassware and making it into candles etc.

I would say no to thrifted gifts personally however if we don’t have the money we wouldn’t give gifts at all. I bought some really nice teacher gifts

A few years ago someone gave my kid a thrifted gift and I thought it was odd. This year someone else gave a thrifted gift and I was all for it! lol

I think it depends on the person, sadly. I would love a thrifted gift! Means they know me.

are "gift receipts" normal in other countries? I don't think it's a big thing in NZ we just think about the gifts we give and people are grateful 🤷🏼

For people that have a weird attitude towards thrifting at VV or gooodwill, sometimes I’ll say I found it at an artsy consignment shop 😏
