Played Merlin with the Arthur module last night and I really liked the additions this module brought to the game! Each player plays with 5 dice instead of four, giving each player an extra action each round. This new die moves the Arthur figure on the board, he can be moved either direction and he is the only figure who can access the new inner ring of the rondel. This module adds some new actions to the rondel and a new way to score (or lose) a few points each round. It also adds a new board for each player to use in their play area, this is where you will keep some of the new tiles you acquire and where you will keep used dice, because there isn’t room in the middle of the table anymore with the new rondel. It does add a bit of time to the overall length of the game, because each player will be taking that additional turn each round, but I really felt like I could do a lot with that extra action, so that’s fine by me. It was also really easy to incorporate this module into the game, because gameplay really change, the new figure in the rondel acts just like the Merlin figure that is used in all games and the icons on the board for the new actions are pretty intuitive for the most part. I think I’m going to try out each module individually before I decide which ones are going to be the ones I play with all the time, this was the first one I’ve tried and I really liked it and I think it has high potential for being one that I am regularly pulling out. #merlin #GameNight #boardgames #boardgameaddict
