That's usually a sign the house plan designer is bit too creative. General rule the more money involved = the less it makes sense

It’s not my house, but I thank you for doing things the right way. That roof line had leak spelt all over it (especially in freeze thaw climates).

we mod the trusses and then get a letter from the trusses. by the way the truss company have in-house engineers
