@petercarlosrvt: One of my favorite videos, here you can see I’m applying lubricant drops to a cats eye to keep them moist during sedation. Notice the flash of light, this is actually a reflection of light as it reflects off the reflective layer in the cats eye called the tapetum lucidum, a layer of tissue in the eye of many vertebrates and some other animals. Lying immediately behind the retina, it is a retroreflector. It reflects visible light back through the retina, increasing the light available to the photoreceptors. The tapetum lucidum contributes to the superior night vision of some animals. . #vet #vetmed #vettechlife #vettech #cat #cats #catsoftiktok #eye #eyes #medical #fyp #fy #fypシ #foryoupage #pet #veterinary #veterinarymedicine #vettechtok #satisfying #interesting #education #kitty #vetmed
