@keepingmomsreal: Did you know that Hitting is is a developmentally appropriate behavior? Yes! There is nothing wrong with your child and you are not doing anything wrong! 💕 (mine slap my face yesterday 😱) Our toddlers are learning how to control their impulses (and this can take a while) but don’t panic!! Remember: your job is not to stop the behavior but to keep everyone safe… How can you do that? 👉🏼 set boundaries and re-direct! 💡Here is an idea You can say “I know you are angry, I can’t let you hit me but we can go to your room and punch the balloons!! ” This is such an easy activity that not only will help you re-direct your toddler, but they will also practice: ✔️Eye hand coordination ✔️Motor skills ✔️Colors (can you hit the blue ballon?) ✔️Quality family time! Making this is so easy: ✅ Tie yarn or ribbon in 1-3 balloons ✅ Tape the other end of the yarn in a ceiling fan ✅ To avoid knots: don’t turn the fan on, simply give it a gentle push and put the balloons as separate as you can. ✅ If you don’t want to put the balloons in the fan or you don’t have one, you can put it directly on the ceiling or a frame door! ✅ If you baby doesn’t walk yet you can lay your baby on the floor, put the ballon lower and let them hit it! ✅ MOST IMPORTANTLY: Follow your child, if you see that your child is not interested, or that they try to pull the balloons, avoid this activity. ✅ Abby is 18 months for your reference! ✅ Never leave your baby alone! ✅ Never leave the yarn hanging unsupervised! 💕If you know another mom who doesn’t know how to re-direct her toddler when hitting, please share this video with her! ✨Follow us for more ideas! 👉🏼 @montessoriforbeginners ____________________________ #p#positiveparentingg#gentleparentingg#grossmotorskillsm#montessoriactivitym#montessoritoddlert#toddleractivitiesh#handsonlearningm#montessoritoddlerlife
