I'm curious, did you ever try the insulin pump? i had this same problem but after i got the pump it's not an issue anymore since I can suspend it.

My two year old daughter was just diagnosed with diabetes. The drs tell me to check her bs give her food count how many carbs she ate then calculate to see how much insulin to give her.
