🪔Day 6 of 31 Days of Diwali - Jalebi🪔 Looking for a Diwali bake that’s delicious, requires minimal effort and can be made with pantry staples? Your search is over cause I have the perfect last minute bake for you, Jalebi! Jalebi is a crispy, spiral shaped sweetmeat that’s soaked in a delicious rose flavored sugar syrup! All you need is a handful of ingredients, 10 minutes prep time, 15 minutes of frying time and you’re done. It really is as simple as it sounds.  So whether you’re looking for something sweet or a little pop of colour for your Diwali parcel, this one’s for you!!!! The recipe is below⬇️ Happy baking👩🏽‍🍳 Recipe: Jalebi  Makes 12 Prep time: 10 minutes  Frying time: 15 minutes  Difficulty Level: Medium  Ingredients  65g    cake flour 1Tbsp cornflour  2Tbsp plain yogurt  2tsp melted butter  A few drops of orange food coloring  60ml  water 1/4tsp bicarbonate of soda  Oil for frying  Sugar Syrup  450g   sugar 250ml water 1tsp rose water Method Sugar syrup 1. Combine the sugar, water and rose water together in a pot on medium heat. 2. Using a thermometer, allow the syrup to boil to 100^C. Then turn the heat off. If you don’t have a thermometer, test a little of the mixture by rubbing it between your fingers. If there are stands when you pull your fingers apart, the syrup is the right temperature. If you can roll the mixture into little ball between your fingers, the syrup is overcooked. Jalebi  3. In a bowl, combine the flour, cornflour, yoghurt, melted butter and food coloring. 4. Mix until well combined. 5. Add the water in gradually and mix until a batter is formed. The consistency must be the same as pancake batter. 6. Decant the batter in the squeeze or ketchup bottle. 7. Place a deep frying pan on medium heat. Add sufficient oil for frying. 8. Once the oil is at medium heat and you’re ready to begin frying, add the Bicarbonate of Soda to the squeeze bottle and shake well. 9. Pour the batter into the oil in a spiral shape. If the oil temp is right the Jalebi will immediately puff up. 10. Fry for 2 minutes on each side 11. Remove the Jalebi from the oil and immediately place it in the syrup.  12. Allow to absorb the syrup for about a minute. 13. Move the Jalebi in a baking rack to cool. 14. Enjoy! #diwali2025 #fyp #diwalibaking #jalebi #jalebirecipe
