@deeperthanmoney: DADDY’S HOME <3 So far this month we’ve seen quite an uptick in the market, and in one of my investment accounts alone, I saw a $30,000 increase from the recent market gains. While that isn’t money in my pocket until I choose to sell my investments, it does increase my net worth by $30,000. And I want this to challenge a belief you might currently have with money: My net worth could go up $30k (from just one account) and I didn’t work hard for it. Granted, I DID work hard to put in my initial investments. I did work hard to pay down my debt and grow an emergency fund and be ready to invest. I did work hard to create a business and have a paycheck. But the growth on my investments is automatic. Giving me all the “sit back, relax and let my money work hard for me” vibes. Giving me all the “daddy’s home” energy. Investing builds wealth for me. Remember, I am investing in the long run, so when the market is down, it’s not a big deal—in fact, I add more into my investment accounts to buy when stocks are “on sale”. But damn, when the market goes up, that energy is HOT and I am loving it. The quicker you figure out money and get all the right accounts set up, the faster you get to sit back, relax and let your money work for you long term. No longer is the only way you make money working more hours. No longer is money super stressful. No longer is debt as overwhelming.
