I am NOT a good piano player and we don’t have an accompanist. Still a high scoring program! I manage with finale accompaniments and LOTS of solfège:)

Non-pianist here. Between using vocal modeling, and utilizing technology, I manage pretty well at the MS level. BUT I do not recommend. Go practice!

High school choir teacher here who sucks at piano! I struggle with putting it all together, but having to play every day forces me to get better.

I can play 2-3 parts at a time, and warm-ups. Technology has been my friend and I get by pretty well. But I've grown even more since I started

Just need to know enough to go through a rehearsal and play parts! Chords help too! Fake it until you make it!

My choir teacher played for us during rehearsals and we had someone’s mom accompany us (she was paid and awesome and had like 18287381 kids who all did choir at my hs)

And if your piano skills are bad bad, get trained in Kodaly methodology— no piano necessary. I agree that piano skills are helpful, but not required!
