This is the exact definition I needed. But what happens if they don’t drink all the time so don’t think they’re alcoholic, but get the repercussions of DUI, arrests, jobs, marriage etc when they do?

Phenomenon of craving. I never could leave half a drink. Once I had the first I could not moderate.

There are levels to addiction that the general public can’t comprehend. It’s too complex and one solution doesn’t fit all. Thank you for sharing.

Drank a handle a day from 18 to 25. Liver failed on my 25 birthday. Spent 2 months in the hospital and started drinking immediately after getting kicked outta rehab.
Met my wife and found The Lord about a year later.
I’ve been sober 2 years now. God is good and you can do it!
