Exactly. The reason why she spares is because she wants to make her own choice, no other influence or player determined choice. The entire reason why Ellie has issues with Joel: She Wanted To Make That Choice, Joel Took That Away. Now She Finally Made Her Own Choice When She Spared Abby.
