@nursehadley: Somehow this voice effect makes me sound even more southern 😅 I didn’t know avoiding the “H word” would be such a common occurrence in my job- but I hear it all the time! #hospice
Not me initially thinking the “H word” was Hadley. 😂😂😂

As a hospice nurse I feel like it’s the patient’s right to know. If they ask, I’m not going to withhold that from them.

I had a family tell me not to use the word hospice, then the patient tells me, "I know I'm dying. But my family doesn't know it." 😅 I find the patient knows despite the family wanting to shelter them.

Used to work in hospice. Patients deserve to know they’re on hospice and likely have a short time left before death.

My mom had brain cancer and was on hospice. I legit do not understand why families would not want their loved one to know.

Why in the world would people not tell their loved ones they are on hospice? I’m so confused.

A patient of mine was alert and oriented and the family asked me to lie to her about the purpose of hospice and have her sign consents 😳

I worked in hospice and my mom still is a hospice nurse and neither of us understand this at all and both do not like it when family’s want to hide

My Mom died Saturday. She went into hospice & we couldn’t be more thankful. She was so peaceful & not in pain. I hope that’s the way I go

My brother deployed 2 days after he signed the hospice papers, and my dad said I’m never going to see him again. Red Cross got him home to say goodbye

As a newbie going into hospice…School shoves “veracity, autonomy, beneficence” in constantly. Where would the line be drawn?

As a hospice worker, this makes it very hard to give good care…. We talk a lot about being hospice minded and making sure the whole team is on board
