This cake roll is the perfect treat for your Valentine’s party, and oh, it's so delicious! @Sheri Wilson  INGREDIENTS Heart pattern: ⅓ cup all-purpose flour 1 large egg 2 tablespoons granulated sugar 1 tablespoon vegetable oil A few drops of red food coloring Cake: 6 large eggs, separated 6 tablespoons milk, room temperature 4 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 teaspoon vanilla extract A few drops of strawberry extract (optional) A few drops of pink food coloring 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder ¾ cup granulated sugar 4-5 cups cream cheese frosting Strawberries, for garnish PREPARATION Preheat the oven to 375°F(190°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Make the heart pattern: Whisk together the flour, egg, sugar, oil, and red food coloring in a small bowl until well combined, then transfer to a piping bag. Snip off the tip of the bag and pipe small hearts onto the prepared baking pan until fully covered. Place the pan into the freezer to chill. Make the cake: Place the egg whites and egg yolks into two separate mixing bowls. Add the milk, oil, vanilla, strawberry extract (if using), and pink food coloring to the bowl of egg yolks and whisk well. Sift in the flour and baking powder; whisk until combined and set aside. Beat the egg whites on high speed with an electric mixer fitted with the whisk attachment until foamy. Slowly pour in the sugar with the mixer running until stiff peaks have formed. Gently fold the meringue, about 1 cup at a time, into the egg yolk mixture. Be careful not to deflate the meringue while mixing. Pour the batter on top of the chilled heart pattern and smooth to the edges of the pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, until the center of the cake springs back when gently pressed. Immediately flip the cake onto a floured surface, remove the parchment, and allow to cool for 5-10 minutes. Trim the edges of the cake if needed. Spread a layer of cream cheese frosting evenly onto the cake. Carefully roll up the cake and tightly wrap with plastic wrap. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. Unwrap the cake roll, pipe extra frosting on top, and garnish with strawberries to serve.
