Also, after they give you their “final offer”, ask them about your tax credit. They’ll conveniently have that included with each offer so ask.

I did this and made a 20page report that I sent back to them where I looked up the carfax on all their comparable cars that were from sketchy dealers

Trim, milage and on going market value. Do a 500 mile radius search and compare at least 10 cars to yours.

The last time I had a totaled car, USAA was using cars with Salvage titles as comparison. I fought with them and won.

Yup I was able to fight this and gave them my comparisons and then gave them the list of the same trim package availability and got almost 6k more.

many states also require the comps to be located within a certain radius and insurance will often use comps from areas with lower values
