Omg. I think after hearing this, that my grandmother was apart of this. She was orphaned and adopted into a family with a farm, with multiple adopted children as farm hands 😖. In Canada though.

My great great grandfather was acquired, abused and was a servant for a farmer. He ran away and taken in by a kind farmer. He married the second farmer’s daughter and inherited the farm. He traded it for a bar and property in Omaha.
