The Buran had a similar exterier but was very different from the shuttles. It was fully hydraulic and had autopilot

You forgot to mention that Buran was a better shuttle then the shuttle. Fully Automated and the Energia rocket could fly other payloads too.

It's a shame the Buran was just dumped and forgotten about. The CCCP were able to improve on a lot the the Shuttles design flaws for a better STS.

The Buran shuttle actually existed in a hangar in the Baikonur cosmodrome up until a few years ago… the hangar collapsed and destroyed the orbiter ☹️

Russia stole the plans for the Anglo/French Concorde. They built one and flew it un announced to a French airshow and it crashed. Bad manufacturer 🤣

The big difference between Buran and the shuttle is that Buran didn’t carry the engines into orbit like the shuttle did. It sat inert going up.
