that's why philosophy is so important, one of my fav subjects in highschool and one of the most practicals too imo, taught me critical thinking!

As a scientist I concur. See also: religion (I'm also a Christian who has been deconstructing my faith for years, a process that has been frowned upon by those who wish I'd just take the body of work, and leave it at that)

I had some great teachers, as well as my mom, that focused on critical thinking. Our public school system was designed to pump out compliant workers.
