@drmalekpt: Hip impingement, known as femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) is internationally defined as “a motion-related clinical disorder of the hip with a triad of symptoms, clinical signs, and imaging findings. Surgery is an option, but so is conservative treatment. Some signs of FAI syndrome include pain in the hip or going and sometimes buttock and thigh. One may complain of hip pain with prolonged sitting or hip flexion motions like deep squats, deadlifts, various yoga poses, or some sport demands (ballet, rowing). There may be clicking, catching, locking, stiffness, or less range of motion, specifically in flexion and internal rotation. Imaging results could include 2 common present bony morphologies. these bone morphologies are present, they also may be asymptomatic and NOT lead to FAI. FAI doesn’t depend on a single sign either. Just because there’s less range or clicking, doesn’t mean you have hip impingement. Focus on modifying exercise, managing load, not pushing ranges that are too uncomfortable, and strengthening the hip - specifically the hip extensors and abductors. #hipimpingement #hipimpingementrehab #hippainexercise #hippinching #hipmobiility #fai #faitreatment

Thank you! I always have the weirdest tightness/catching that psoas and hip flexor stretching seem to do nothing for!

Since all xrays kept coming back clean, my FAI was diagnosed too late in life. MRIs are a must for a diagnosis!
