instead of sketching with pencil try chalk. if you use a pencil most of the time you can still see the lines but with chalk it blends into the paint!

the orange underpainting is for making the colours pop. most use the opposite of what the most common colour is your painting going to be

Mixing the acrylic with water makes the acrylic not last as long, mix it with acrylical medium instead

idk why ppl are saying you shouldn’t use pencil, but if you want to use i think it’s best to sketch with it first then add the base layer of acrylic

The base is something oil painters do but what you did is right/ok as it helps u get more accurate colors

They usually sketch with a pencil first and then make a coat of mixture of acrylic and water. But I love how it turned out!

Looks amazing! You can also sketch first and then use the orange wash after. That way the graphite won’t bleed into your colours and you’ll have a lovely toned base to paint on!
