@floriangadsby: I prefer glazing my pots this way around, firs the outside and then the inside, especially as the forms become larger and more unwieldy. For this smaller vessel I could very well use tongs but when dipping the pot, removing it and letting the excess glaze dribble out, there’s always a chance the outside surface becomes inconsistent with stray drips and uneven surfaces, (the low clay content in my glaze means it doesn’t form the nicest of layers). So, I dip the outside, in and out, which means I’m able to create a lovely, smooth surface of glaze, which I shake a touch, just to remove the excess that can form around the base. As I glaze I work only with one specific colour at a time, that way I can scratch up excess glaze and put it back into my buckets but this does mean that all my surfaces need to be kept excessively clean, especially with the white, as it can be stained so easily. Now the only thing left to do is clean up the surface and foot but that won’t be something I do until the day after, once all that sopping wet powdery glaze has thoroughly dried out. #glazing #vase #asmr #satisfyingsounds #stoneware #maker #WIP #craft #potteryvideos

Why not just dunk the whole thing? Like I know there’s probably a smart answer but I can’t think of it.
