Time is the great filter. Space is too far apart - the odds that we are all advanced at the same space time is low. Think about fruit flies.

this is hard to explain but I have this theory that the different planets are home to different phenomenons, say for example you didn't know what life was prior, you'd probably have a rough time comprehending it, things as grandiose as life probably exist on other planets
