this is hard to explain but I have this theory that the different planets are home to different phenomenons, say for example you didn't know what life was prior, you'd probably have a rough time comprehending it, things as grandiose as life probably exist on other planets

I think in the grand scheme of time, intelligent lifeforms might not live long enough to create space travel before dying out or if they do, we miss each other by millions of years. Think of how short human existence has been in the scope of the universe.
