@fareisle: Christmas on Nantucket is not complete without scallop shell lights. ✨🐚✨ I love the mini fairy light version! I’ve been collecting small scallops shells for years to make these lights for my son’s school’s holiday fair. This year I collected extra to make some at home for gifts. The trick is to find the tiny shells - usually abundant in the fall during bay scallop season when they wash up in the tides. Then a quick soak in bleach water to clean them up before rinsing and drying them. Making them is pretty simple - First I pair up the shells then it’s just two dots of hot glue to secure the light strand to the shell and the shells to each other. This fall I found tiny pairs of intact mussel shells and the lightbulb went off - “these might work with the lights!” So I tried them mixed with scallop shells on one strand - love how it turned out! #holidaytok #foryoupage #cottagecore #nantucket #newenglandtiktok #christmastok #fairylights #crafttok #holidaycrafts
