CJDR tech here. Verify there is no metal in the fuel rail. I’ve seen this as well. Pump internals failed and was lodged in the rail. Luckily it never made it to the injector.

You can use a puller and pull the cam gear lol no need for all of that

That’s one thing about a Cummins, thing could have a window or two in the block and running off cooking oil but it would still run lol

we had one do the exact same thing a couple months or so ago. they had it zip tied to the front cover to get it to stay 😂

Cam doesn’t have to come out. But pulling the front clip makes the rest of the job a lot nicer 😂

You do not have to pull the cam all the way to do the inner timing gear cover just pull it a little bit
