Your guide to visiting Hong Kong for the first time 🇭🇰 ✈️ Once you arrive, the easiest way to get to wherever you need to go is Airport Express 🚆 The public transit system is very easy to navigate. Try to get a tourist Octopus card from the kiosks. This will be your golden ticket to getting around and even pay for a lot of things in Hong Kong (commuting with an octopus card is always cheaper). It operates on a top up system 📱 For SIM cards, I’ve heard good things about SoSim and you can get it at any local @watsons 🍴 Hong Kong has a lot of fantastic food. If I’m being honest, I would look for alternatives to the famous tourist spots you’re going to come across. They’re not bad, they can just get crowded and you can find same/better quality food at a cheaper price 🐄 The only tourist spot I would say to definitely try is Australian Dairy Company for their scrambled egg on toast 🤤 When you’re in Hong Kong, I would recommend trying the following standout food cuisines/items: fusion food (cafe food), street food like tea infused eggs/fishballs/bubble waffles, Hong Kong style diners/tea restaurants, dimsum and wonton noodles 🍚 The version of Yelp over there is Open rice. You can find your next restaurant here! 📷 Tourist spots I would recommend: 1. Man Mo Temple—temple with very traditional and beautiful interior of incense spirals 2. Spend a day in one of the islands: Cheung Chau or Lamma Island 3. Allocate some time to hike to a viewing point at The Peak (Mt. High West Viewing Point OR Lugard Road Lookout) 4. Take the Central Mid-Level escalators (longest outdoor escalator system). Since you’re in the neighbourhood, check out Lan Kwai Fong for some night life 5. Take the Star Ferry to Tsim Sha Tsui. Check out the Cultural Center for architecture and live performances and K11 Musea 6. Ngong Ping 360 for a beautiful cable car experience 💛 My favourite neighbourhoods I think you should look into: Causeway Bay, Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, Prince Edward, Mong Kok, Repulse Bay, Stanley #hongkong
