Part 2 of a series on skill acquisition. This is about who gets what type of value from what activities. If you're a clunky PhD student, dance may not be that valuable at first because it's maybe not easy, but over time it can become immensely valuable. There are also ways to try and isolate the core skills you get from any one activity and to learn those faster on your own terms. That is the subject of the next video. If you learn ballet, after all, you're learning choreography, when you may just want to get the fundamentals of how to move as quickly as possible. Those are just different things. It helps to think about what types of activities you want to pursue and what benefits you are getting from them, and on what timeline. #SelfImprovement #psychology #dance #passion is#motivation
Git Merge vs Git Rebase 🔀 Both combine branch changes, but they handle history very differently. 🔀 Git Merge combines two histories without rewriting existing commits. If branches diverged, Git may create a merge commit with two parents. ♻️ Git Rebase takes your feature commits and reapplies them on top of the latest base, creating a cleaner, more linear history. But there’s a catch: rebase rewrites history, so rebased commits get new commit IDs. That’s why rebasing shared branches can cause problems. If you already pushed the branch, you may need: git push --force-with-lease For conflicts: * Merge → resolve → git merge --continue * Rebase → resolve → git rebase --continue * Cancel rebase → git rebase --abort The simple rule: Merge = preserve history Rebase = rewrite history for a cleaner timeline Use rebase carefully on shared branches. 🚀 #Git #GitMerge #GitRebase #GitHub #SoftwareDevelopment
