For upside down filters I fill it once then rotate it around until the actual filter element absorbs it. Not enough to have standing oil in that will spill when you flip it over, but enough for the filter to be soaked before restarting

As long as you lube the o ring it doesn’t matter, I like to fill the filter up maybe a 1/8 or so, just a splash inside

you dont have to prefill it, just fill the oil till the dishlt shows full, then add an extra gallon of antifreeze to the oil.

mine are mounted sideways, just make a mess, lube the seal and put it on

You don’t NEED to prefill. Lube the rubber seal. Put some oil in to soak the filter media and that’s more than fine.

just use some cling wrap from the kitchen to hold the oil in the filter. cling wrap is thin enough you can still thread it on the housing.
