So if you take the one stop and for some reason that fly gets canceled now you stock on another state not to mention that sometimes the lay over can be up 6 hours long making a two hours fly longer

Yes, the reason I prefer SW. Can't stand going 500-1,000 miles out of the way to get somewhere. Been doing this a long time. They'll get it ironed out

I think most customers would much rather take a direct flight from St. Louis to Omaha than St. Louis to Atlanta and then the Omaha

Rental car and just hit the road if you can afford it and can get a refund on return flight. When it comes to weather though, it’s not to be tested and this is for the best for everyone involved.
