Other than a 5 mile test drive mine was loaded grossing 140k and was told to drive it like a stock car. Never had a problem

Ring grooves are probably lined up. Don’t trust liner prepacks.

Some cats like to run a gallon low. I’ve ran several that way. Leaving it a gallon low and it never burned a drop

Can you tell by looking at the rings? Could the ring gab just be set incorrect? Not disagreeing, just seems like a ton of oil for a lack of break in.

I rebuilt the engine in my combine last year. after running it for 30 minutes I changed the oil again then went to pick beans. wide open for 8 hours
