I always try to think of time/place when I watch something. Situate myself in the paranoid Nixonian early 70s and consider Coppolas own isolation.

Same here. I've gotten hate for having Oldboy at 1/5 but I guessed the twist 10 minutes in the first time I watched it and it ruined the rest for me

Agree w/ all this! When I rate films I try to balance it between my enjoyment of it and how good I think it was beyond that bc the two often diverge
