the screen is specifically designed to read with it so it's not as harsh on your eyes as a phone screen

I have a kindle and the nice thing about it (I’m sure kobo does too) but you can control text size, brightness of screen, dark/light mode which helps

I have the Kobo Libra and it looks like paper, but has a backlight that you can turn on/off. I HIGHLY recommend, I cant read long on my laptop/phone

I have a paperwhite and also have astigmatism and have had no issues at all! The new paperwhite has a warming feature as well that’s helped me a lot.
