What is the reason that women veil as traditional Catholics? Here is a quick breakdown... 1) Wearing a head covering is a sign of humbling one’s self in front of God. 2) Women are symbols of the Church, which is the Bride of Christ. 3) It is a sign of the dignity of women. 4) It dates back to the times of old with the Jewish people. 5) The Church veils that which is sacred, as is the dignity of womanhood. 6) I, personally, feel closer to Our Lady with my veil on (as She always appears with Her veils). 7) It’s Biblical. 8) Veiling accentuates a woman’s beauty.
