Read 👇🏼 You need to make recovery a massive priority! It’s something I have learnt overtime, some of you may have noticed that at the moment I even have 2-3 rest days a week to make sure I’m recovering to repair or prevent injuries.  These are some of my favourite recovery tips: 1. Make sure you are stretching, this will increase the blood flow, reduce soreness, increase flexibility and boost recovery. I try to at least do 5-10mins everyday.  2. Ice baths can help speed up recovery, increasing blood flow but also helps with stress relief and mental resilience. I try to stay in for over 5mins.  3. Sauna can help reduce inflammation, increase blood flow and reduce pain to the body. I try to stay in for 30mins.  4. Fuel yourself with protein! Will repair your muscles after training and speed up recovery. I try to have protein supplement straight after I train.  5. Do the little things… a massive thing I have learnt is to work on the little things like rehab/strengthening exercises. Putting time everyday to strengthen the little things will go a long way.  6. Make sure you prioritise sleep. I have struggled with sleep and winding down, so now to help I make sure I have a good sleeping routine. Sleep is a massive aid in recovery. Taking magnesium, switching off devices and sleeping in a cool room. Trying to get 7-9 hours of sleep.  7. Rest days are important. They allow the body to rest and recover, to prevent injury. I always try to have rest days.  Sometimes we need to slow down and focus on the little things to take our potential 1 step further.
