I rarely repot new plants & here’s why ⬇️ It can cause unnecessary stress to the plant when it’s already trying to acclimate to your space. At the very least, give it a few weeks, but I usually prefer to just leave the plants in their growers pots and original soil until they need to be moved to a larger pot. this can be months or years depending on the plant & how quickly it grows. Most times the soil/pot the plants come in are perfectly fine AS LONG AS you are giving them the conditions (= light) they need to thrive. Some people prefer to repot immediately and that’s completely fine! Do what works best for you & your plants. In the case of this pink princess philodendron, the pot was too large in my opinion and the root to substrate ratio wasn’t what I prefer, so I sized down. You can see some of the roots had rotted (stringy) so moving it to a smaller pot & more breathable medium should help that! I’ve been loving tree fern fiber lately. My variegated maranta has made the comeback of a lifetime in it and a few other plants I’ve switched to tree fern fiber have been thriving as well.
