@drkwanele: The implanon:It’s a single plastic rod with progesterone that is slowly released over 3 years.Currently in SA we are using the 3 year option but there’s another option lasting 5 years. It’s 99.7% effective. Time of insertion depends also depends on whether you are breastfeeding , or not and if you had a miscarriage recently.
