another problem is dark blonde to a hairstylist is light brown to most of the population because people only consider things blonde if their yellow and light, but level wise a lot of "light brown" hair colors are actually dark blonde

As an adult blonde it mostly is bc they were praised for blonde hair when they were young. Ask them when they last got compliments on their hair color

I think it’s usually because they have a gold hint to their brown (or did at some point). Like golden brown is a thing, you don’t have to be blonde 😅
