@daveramsey: I only recommend buying a home once you're debt-free, have 3–6 months of emergencies covered, and if you're a first-time home buyer, when youcan put down at least 5–10% (aim for 20% to avoid the monthly PMI fee). No matter what, make sure the payment is no more than 25% of your monthly take-home pay on a 15-year FIXED-rate conventional mortgage. Trust me, you want your home to be a blessing, not a curse! #homebuyingtips #wealthymindset #wealthbuilding #budgeting #daveramsey

Owning a house is too expensive. Repairs are a small fortune.

In an apartment you only pay rent and utilizes. One thing goes wrong in that house and there goes 5-10k. On top of insurance, taxes, maintenance!!!

I pay 3,000$ for an apartment, wouldn’t I just be better off renting a home?

He may have given good advice at one point, but his time has passed. His advice is no longer relevant to modern society.

I was 20 years old when I first bought my home. In debt but it saved me!! 1 bed 1 bath renting was 1,700 a month. My 3 bed 2 bath is 600 a month!!

rural development home loans, and FHA home loans for low income. get you a house! yes cost money to upkeep, but cheaper than renting in 2023.

I bought a house broke and in debt making 35k a year. Interest rate was low and the market was low. I bought at a great time

I see both sides. Home ownership may be cheaper but if that roof caved in or house floods and you’re broke it may not make sense.

She will need more than that if she wants something decent, for a 15 year mortgage payment, thats only 25% of your monthly income even with a partner.

in rural areas you can find a decent small house for 120k, finance it for 20 years and could easily afford it
