@untoldmysteries: Phoenix Coldon (23) disappeared in 2011, and was never seen again after leaving her parents house. December 18th, 2011, Phoenix grabbed her keys to her 1998 Chevy Blazer and left her home in Spanish Lake, MO around 2:20 p.m. That same day, a couple hours later her car was located on the side of the road in East St. Louis with the driver's door wide open. A police officer decided not to run the plates or investigate, and simply had the car impounded to Illinois. Phoenix's parents filed a missing persons report the next day, but didn’t find her car until two weeks later when a family friend spotted it at the impound. Once police started their investigation, details about her life began to unfold. Phoenix was a student at The University of Missouri-St. Louis, but strangely didn’t enroll herself for the upcoming semester at the time. After going through her cell phone, it was discovered she had a “secret boyfriend” that her parents didn’t know anything about. Phoenix’s parents, who are in fact her adoptive parents, were said to be strict and very religious. Videos recorded by Phoenix were discovered where she appeared distraught, and said things such as “I just want to start over” and “I can't remember a time I was happy.” Around 2014, a friend claimed she spotted Phoenix at the St. Louis Airport with several young women and two large men. Sadly, this didn’t lead to any new details or information. A prior ex-girlfriend of the “secret boyfriend” did relay to police that she asked him “if he knew what happened to Phoenix?” to which he replied “Why are you worrying about someone that’s dead?” He was later cleared of any wrong doings.
