Mild cases will likely resolve on its own. Severe cases with torticollis will unlikely resolve with repositioning. Not every head is the same.

idk, the Dr's and ortho told me my son didn't need a helmet. I tried repositioning, held him constantly etc. by 8 months it was better but still flat

Let’s talk to parents about side sleeping while being watched too. Helmets will be needed in severe cases. Also, helmets are not cosmetic.

My son has plagiocephaly and torticollis. Lots of PT and a helmet. Had shoulder dystocia and a month long nicu stay. He’s 8mo with a 13mm difference:(

My son had Torticollis and plagiocephaly. We did PT for torticollis, found a DO that helped reshaped his head with her hands rather than helmet

Thank you for this. My son developed a flat spot, and I can actually see and feel the dip from his bassinet. I’m assuming it’s from having limited range of motion while he was swaddled as a newborn, but I can definitely see how changing positions and gently alternating his head to the opposite side could help. Really appreciate this - thank you.
