@cheddar: A rare phenomenon. A viral video of a freshly cut piece of meat spasming has resurfaced the internet, and now social media users are considering going vegan. The video, first posted to Twitter in 2020, shows an unknown butcher grasping the raw chunk of meat as it pulsates uncontrollably. The jiggling piece of beef racked over hundreds of thousands of views when it was first shared to social media, and the numbers are continuing to rise. The caption of the disturbing beef footage reads, “Adding salt to freshly cut muscle causes it to spasm.” This phenomenon occurs when the nerve endings in freshly cut pieces of beef are activated by sodium ions, according to Scientific American. Want to see your meat spasm? Just add salt to freshly dead beef.
