You should just say, slow down and be prepared to stop if necessary. Don’t use the word brake if you don’t want her to brake

well in the country I live, rule says that if pedestrian is on the zebra crossing, i have to stop anyway. maybe that rule is different in uk

Why make it more confusing by saying brake and brake clutch? You could say Brake and a learner could be anticipating you saying Clutch afterwards 🤨
