@dejashu: Eating GIANT OYSTERS in Hakodate Japan! 🦪 After a filling lunch today, I still had room for more and couldn’t stop thinking about these oysters next door. So off I giddily went and spoke to the elderly man who ran it, pointed to the two oysters and sat down on a rickety wooden chair inside to eat it. I was vlogging the entire thing and the man behind me found it either amusing or very strange ahaha. These were only 1000 yen for TWO!! That’s about £3 each. EACH!!! It’s technically a wholesale grocer (as listed on google) so prices seem to be lower than the places nearby. There’s also the option to have live shellfish and have it grilled, donburi and fresh uni. The place is called 信幸どんぶり屋 (11-14 Wakamatsucho, Hakodate, Hokkaido 040-0063, Japan) These oysters were as big as my hand – and it was incredibly creamy. It took a while to get through, about 15 to 20 chews, and I LOVED it. I saw similar ones in Kyoto 3 years ago and I often (lol) think about them and regret not going for it at the time. Not anymore! These were so delicious. Hokkaido specialises in seafood and dairy - both of which I’ve had so far and IT. IS. FANTASTIC.
