Been thinking more about this and think it makes total financial sense – the hashtag #tartedubaitrip currently has 2.1 million views on TikTok and counting. My question, which I haven’t seen much commentary is DIVERSITY. When these press trips were happening, it was often the editors in the top ranks, mostly white women, not a lot of faces like mine.  The same has been a valid criticism of social media. Content creators of colour create viral dances, songs, music, but when mostly white women use them and popularize them, and credit to the original creator is lost.  I want everyone to win in this game – I would be interested to know who the 50 influencers invited on this Dubai trip are….was it a group of diverse women – diverse in culture, size and personality. Because guess what? All of us are consumers – so show us the representation.
