try hotel Sunroute next time. walking distance to JR Shinjuku. airport limo stops at the lobby, there is JR access next door. roughly $100/night

Have you tried Muji Hotel in Ginza or Metropolitan Hotel in Ikebukuro? I highly recommend both.

Guys i stayed here during christmas (peak season) and trust me when i say i did so much research for the best price! Even airbnbs were $500 a night😱
