@sfjazz: SFJAZZ has presented many ‘Sacred Space’ concerts in Nob Hill’s Grace Cathedral throughout the organization's history including performances by Pharoah Sanders, Cecil Taylor, Yusef Lateef, Zakir Hussain, Anthony Braxton, and Charlie Haden. On February 9th, Bay Area native and trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire will join the ranks of legendary musicians who have performed solo concerts at Grace Cathedral, which is known for its 7-second delay within the acoustics of the structure. Watch this rare archival clip of Pharoah Sanders and SFJAZZ Founder/Artistic Director Randall Kline interviewed by the Bay Area’s Channel 7 News in 1988 covering Jazz In The City’s (now the San Francisco Jazz Festival) presentation of Sanders at Grace Cathedral. #jazztok #sanfrancisco #80s #saxophone #johncoltrane
