Walking burns more calories than doing nothing and you can combine that with a diet. Both can put you in a calorie deficit 🤯

so my calorie deficit is like 1692...my maintenance is over 2000 but I never eat that much anyway, so am I truly in a deficit if I wasn't eating

20-30 minutes of running on 6 burns around 200 calories. So if you’re lookig to be in a caloric deficit, burning calories on the treadmill will help.
