@theprecolumbiangentleman: A cool Chinesco figure from Nayarit, Mexico, circa 100 BC to 250 AD. This piece measures 10 1/4” tall and depicts a standing male. He is painted red with black and cream accents. The figure is simply adorned with a loincloth and armbands. Earspools and a nosering decorate his face. Chinesco figures are a variant of the Nayarit pieces. They have five classifications and this one is a type C. These pieces were placed deep into shaft tombs of the elite ruling class of West Mexico, 2000 years ago. Ex Fred Eiserman collection from Houston, Texas.
