@underatinroof: French Dip Sandwiches with Au Jus 🤤 We got hit with a not-so-fun cold over the weekend, so these hot roast beef sandwiches were the perfect comfort food yesterday for lunch. Oh my gosh, they’re so good! 😩 I ended up doing a little research on the creation of this sandwich, because of course I did, and I discovered that it popped up on the American food scene around 1918. It’s contested about which restaurant originally created the sandwich, but the lore of the sammie is that the chef dropped it in the beef dripping and served it to the customer anyway.
