You seem like you’re getting a lot of hate on this video but it’s simply a genius way to solve this problem. Some people just don’t get it

less expensive than Sonos. We did it using chrome cast audio units.

You can already do that without all the extra equipment. Just plug and play

Um. I just have dots it every room. It can play music on all of them throughout the house or on one individual one. Why all the extra equipment?

One sonos amp (max 2 passive speaker pairs per amp) is $700. A large install gets pricy quick.

you going to do all that work drilling holes and messing up the drywall and you're not even going to put a good speaker in😂😂😂

I have asimilar setup! I’m using raspberry pi’s running picoreplayer instead of echo dots. Used Echos are probably way cheaper though. Nice setup!

hello. I have no idea at all about this topic, but can't you run Echo dots over IP in the WLAN? or is the performance then not enough?

Will the echos be able to hear you or do you need to control with your phone all the time?

Newbie to whole home, but audiophile question. So is the dot ised as input device taking voice commands? Or as output device (aka a bad speaker)

Are using the dots for audio? Why not just get a mixer?

Or you could just put the dots in each room? The sounds ok enough for me from the speakers in them.

Great idea. How do you control the music in each room, with another echo dot in the room?
