change your feed line binding inside the hose cause the drive gear to work harder causing stripped.

Wow, I’ve been mig welding almost 3 years and didn’t know this🤦🏻 thanks for the knowledge. Also maybe some loctite set at the position would work.

Add shims behind it. You can get AC clutch shims at any auto store. From .005-.015. Stack them to fit.
